For some reason I do not like those uninspired and uninspiring glass covered, monolithic hotels that sport the same plastic carpet, those typical white plastic  frame windows, respectively the standard furniture.

I prefer places of character which need not be old or top end (but might very well be). And hell, this list is far from being complete.
